Ryan is a versatile bass that has sung in a wide variety of vocal ensembles and styles. Ryan began his professional singing career at age nineteen with the Connecticut Lyric Opera as Sciarrone in Puccini's Tosca; and continued the CLO as Zuniga in Bizet's Carmen, Montano in Verdi's Otello, and Don Iñigo Gomez in Ravel's L’Heure Espagnole. Before moving to New York in 2013, Ryan performed as the bass soloist of Verdi's Requiem with the Connecticut Virtuosi Orchestra and in the chorus for Yale University's Graduate Program production of I Capuleti e i Montecchi.

Currently in New York, Ryan sings bass in his contemporary a cappella group, BLACKOUT, and performs in a number of other vocal engagements with Opera America and Choral Chameleon, among others.
